Covid-19: EU Digital COVID Certificate
From 1 September 2021 to travel by plane on all flights departing from or arriving at Italian airports, and within the EU, it is necessary to have a Health Pass (or Green Pass), with the exception of minors excluded by age from the vaccination campaign (up to 12 years of age) and exempt subjects on the basis of appropriate medical certification.
Please note that airlines are responsible for checking the Green Pass (EU Digital COVID Certificate) for access to their transport services.
What are the modalities to benefit from the EU health pass?
Who can have it?
- Vaccinate against Covid-19, 14 days after receiving the last dose * (among those authorized by the EMA): valid for up to 9 months;
- Who has had a negative test result: the PCR and RADT tests must be carried out within 48 hours prior to entering Italy;
- Who is cured: at the end of the contagious period, 11 days after having done a PCR test, which certifies the infection; valid for 180 days from the test.
* It can also be released after a single dose of the vaccine but each country is free to accept it or not.
Can the health pass be used to travel within the European Union?
Yes, it is possible. Since July 1, 2021, with the harmonization of the European Health Pass (Green Pass), also known as the “EU digital Covid certificate”, you can now travel freely throughout Europe by simply presenting a QR Code, available directly in your AntiCovid application (the QR code of the application is unified with the format requested by the European Union).
Can the European health pass (“EU Digital Covid Certificate”) be used to travel internationally?
No, it is Not possible. Cause this is a standard adopted by the European Union. It does not replace the local regulations of the country of destination outside the European Union.
Do I need to have the test to enter the airport?
It is not necessary to have a test, but access to the Terminals is regulated by thermoscanner devices for measuring the temperature and is only allowed for passengers with regular travel tickets and personal protective equipment.
I am not a passenger but I have to accompany a relative / friend to the airport, can I access the airport?
In compliance with the social distancing rules due to Covid-19, those who are not passengers are not allowed to enter the Terminal, except in case of need (for example accompanying minors or people with reduced mobility who need assistance).
