The airline Air Europa was born in 1986 and is today the third largest in Spain, after Iberia and Vueling, by number of passengers.

Since 1993 it has started offering domestic routes thus breaking Iberia’s monopoly. Its main office is located on the island of Mallorca, while its operational base is at the Madrid-Barajas airport。

Air Europa, which was the first Spanish private airline to operate domestic scheduled flights (as well as charter flights which later became its core business), offers 675 routes in almost all EU states.
